Gayatri is all about the life and yagya is all about its actions. So Gayatri Yagya, together is about life and its actions. Objective of Gayatri Yagya is to achive an ideal life through ideal actions. Various Sanskars are about different phases of the life and related wisdom to achive the best out of them. Both Gayatri Yagya and Sanskars are group activities. So one must encourage participation from all family members and friends.

Yagya information/procedure Book in Hindi and English

  1. Table around 3x2 feet for stage with clean cotton cloth to cover it
  2. Flowers for Decoration and for puja offerings
  3. Water Bowls with spoons - 2
  4. Kumkum / Sandalwood powder - for puja
  5. Kalash and (Shrifal) dry coconut with Shell (without Husk) on top of it for prayer
  6. Incense sticks (Agarbatti) - 1 pack
  7. Ghee - 16 oz
  8. Light Lamp (Deepak) - 1 main, 5 for aarti
  9. Kheer(Semi-solid) - for offering in Yagya as well as can be for Parsad
  10. Aluminum foil - for covering yagya kund as well as flooring below it
  11. Betel nut (supari) - 1 for puja, 1 for purnahuti (Final oblation)
  12. Havan Samagri - powder for oblations (Ahutis) (Grocery stores generally have it)
  13. Bowls for Havan samagri - 4
  14. Kalawa (Colored thread to be tied around the wrist)
  15. Prasad - anything you like, fruits etc.
  16. Paper Towel
  17. Steel spoon and bowl for Ghee - 1

  20. Dry Coconut or Natural Mango Wood (Make sure its thin long pieces and not made of any composite material. as some of them create lot of ash particles in the air which can be harmful.Indian stores sells mango wood sticks for the same. Any natural low polution wood should be okay.)
